3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS does have some differences when comparing it to the traditional Desktop SOLIDWORKS. Much of the operation and general modeling and simulating functionality will be nearly identical, but you will now have the added power of being connected to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This means that all of your design data will be securely stored and backed up on the cloud. Even though you will have SOLIDWORKS installed locally to your computer, you will still need a connection to the internet to keep all of your data connected in real time and take full advantage of all of the data and product lifecycle management features available.
