An Inside Look: 3DEXPERIENCE World 2023
3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) World 2023, the annual international conference for SOLIDWORKS and Dassault Systèmes, was held in Nashville, Tennessee, and the SWYFT Solutions team was fortunate to attend in person to learn from other experts and users. With global designers, engineers, manufacturers, and business leaders all in attendance, 3DEXPERIENCE World provided a collaborative environment for users to gather and learn more about the entire SOLIDWORKS ecosystem, including the 3DEXPERIENCE Works portfolio.
Who Attends 3DEXPERIENCE World?
One of the ways 3DEXPERIENCE World stands out against other conferences is the incredible people in attendance. It’s a great opportunity for SOLIDWORKS users to share their expertise, showcase their skills, and train others from a user perspective.
Even if your current SOLIDWORKS license doesn’t include 3DEXPERIENCE, 3DEXPERIENCE World is a great resource for you. The conference is for all SOLIDWORKS users, and it extends beyond the design capabilities of SOLIDWORKS.
A wide range of attendees come from all over the world, including Dassault Systèmes employees, SOLIDWORKS resellers like us, partners, third-party collaborators, and, of course, SOLIDWORKS users. With several tracks to choose from, all conference goers have a unique experience depending on which sessions, trainings, and events they attend.
3DEXPERIENCE World Workshops & Training Sessions
Previously known as SOLIDWORKS World, 3DEXPERIENCE World encompasses more than just the SOLIDWORKS environment, but the full 3DEXPERIENCE portfolio, which includes sessions and training on DELMIA tools, SIMULA, ENOVIA, and more.
Our very own Customer Success Manager, Matthew Fontana, led a session on The Top 10 Tips and Tricks to Manage Your CAD Data, which dove into advice on general data management and file management. Overall, our team thoroughly enjoyed the general sessions, but our favorite topics were marketing and modeling-related.
3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Announcements & Upcoming Changes
One of the benefits of attending 3DEXPERIENCE World is being the first to hear about new features. A new capability that we’re excited about is the addition of functionality within the browser-based 3D design capabilities in the 3D Creator role. This feature will allow users to upload scan data into 3D Creator, which will reverse-engineer the data for you and turn it into a parametric model with defined sketches you can easily edit or add features downstream. Anyone who frequently works with scan data will reap the benefits of this new capability. It will save you tons of time by removing the need to recreate sketches to seamlessly line up with scan data.
The biggest announcement that came from 3DEXPERIENCE World was changes coming to SOLIDWORKS licenses in July 2023. This summer, new SOLIDWORKS licenses will have the addition of cloud-based services to allow users to share data, collaborate, and markup data in a browser-based environment.
Advice to Future 3DEXPERIENCE World Attendees
If you weren’t able to attend this year, we highly recommend making a plan to make it to 3DEXPERIENCE World 2024! If next year will be your first 3DEXPERIENCE World experience, we recommend being open-minded and intentional about your attendance.
What you put in is what you get out of 3DEXPERIENCE World, so take the opportunity to build relationships, network, and collaborate with other SOLIDWORKS users in person. Sit by people you don’t know during meals and sessions. You never know, they might become lifelong connections and friends. Take advantage of the different insights the thousands of SOLIDWORKS users can provide from their own use cases.
Don’t forget to share your own experience and feedback on 3DEXPERIENCE, too. SOLIDWORKS genuinely listens to attendees and user feedback to improve their CAD solutions, which is how Dassault Systèmes ensures SOLIDWORKS does not become a static product.
3DEXPERIENCE World is a unique conference experience that we hope every SOLIDWORKS user can experience at least once. We hope to see you in Dallas, Texas, for 3DEXPERIENCE World 2024! In the meantime, stay up to date on SOLIDWORKS news or ask questions about your user experience by getting in touch with our team.
